mimoOs: Thread Sewn

What genetic pattern have our great grandmothers and grandmothers woven into our bodies? Are we different and are they guilty? What did they want to talk about and what could they talk about?

We are looking for a dull voice at the attics, where the whistle of the wind is its companion. We are flying a kite trhough tight lips, opening the window. The woman’s soul stayed there, knitted into a tight sweater.

The following performance reviews were generated within the project Dance Season 2018/2019 - a Slovak nationwide project of analyzes of contemporary dance performances and discussions, which was supported using public funding by Slovak Arts Council.

A performative concert of three dancers and a musician, in which you can feel sentiment towards the past – the culture, the identity, questioning what of the remains is still relevant to us. Performers rely heavily on singing, which is a tool of emotionally communicating the past, allowing many unspoken things to become more articulate, triggering movement and choreographic compositions. Performers want to be anchored in the past, or in what is left from the past, but the two images of then and now don't fit together.

A great music mix, which arose from layering, repetition, wrapping on, creating a principle manifested on other levels of the performance, especially the movement, intertwining and fighting to win the attention. An example of a work in which content equals form.
